HAU is not simply an organization—it’s a movement. We believe that an independent organization—one capable of engaging alumni voices, supporting current students, and constructively challenging decisions made by university leadership, when necessary—can help strengthen both the alumni community and the university.

HAU does not see itself as a replacement for the Howard University Alumni Association (HUAA), but rather as complementary to the important role HUAA plays in connecting alumni with the University and local communities.
